Cheryl D. Miller

Accomplished graphic designer, writer, and activist

 

Cheryl D. Miller is an accomplished graphic designer, writer, and activist who has significantly impacted the design industry over the past four decades. In 1984, she founded one of the first Black women-owned design firms in New York City. Miller is renowned for her advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion in graphic design. Most notably through her influential 1987 Print Magazine article "Black Designers Missing in Action." Her groundbreaking work has earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious AIGA Gold Medal, Cooper Hewitt National Design Awardee and induction into the One Club Creative Hall of Fame. Through her ongoing dialogue about representation and equality, Miller has cemented her position as a pivotal figure in the design world.
