Atmospheric water extraction or harvesting (AWH) is emerging as a potential solution to global water challenges, spanning from humanitarian and domestic drinking water needs to military operations or industrial water usage. Various industries, including beverage, healthcare, semiconductor, and data centers, are investing in research, pilot tests, and the integration of AWH into their water portfolio to achieve net-zero water footprints. Breakthroughs in material science, thermodynamics, and integrated process engineering are advancing AWH as an economical solution to be a new water source for these applications. The water quality produced by AWH is emerging as a new research area requiring attention
The 3rd International Atmospheric Water Harvesting Summit was created to explore new technical or systems solutions, review progress of pilot-testing, understand how policy and regulatory barriers are being removed, and assess progress along an AWH roadmap. This year's summit, titled “Beachhead AWH Materials and Applications”, will feature sessions about the following:
Water production rates & Energy efficiency – from lab, pilot, full-scale approaches
Thermodynamics and waste heat
Process Engineering & reactor designs
Microclimate, air quality, and geospatial considerations
Applications: From humanitarian & food/agriculture to data centers and dehumidification
Policy and regulations to support AWH adoption
AWH Roadmapping, LCA, TEA progress
Details on Steering Committee, Panelist Information and Summit Agenda to come.
