Doing good work is no longer enough. In today’s environment of growing demand, competing priorities, and shrinking resources, managers and leaders needs to ensure their organization is having the desired impact. Decisions about where and how to focus resources to ensure the desired impact is created must be grounded in the evaluation of an organization’s strategies and programs.
This course explores evaluation systems—from design to implementation—that produce valid, credible, and useful information to assess program impact within nonprofit organizations.
Learning Objectives:
Explain the key components and steps for conducting program evaluation.
Develop a program model that details expected/desired results.
Identify data sources for specified evaluation measures.
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of program evaluation designs.
Discuss strategies for creating a culture of evaluation.
Discuss strategies for strengthening program evaluations.
This course will consist of article reading, discussion questions, authentic assessments, and self-tests to enhance learning and build upon prior knowledge.
