Date: Sunday, November 17, 2024
Time: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: ASU Art Museum, 51 East 10th Street, Tempe AZ 85281
We are pleased to extend an invitation to faculty, staff, students and members of the ASU community to an interdisciplinary panel discussion on the experience of becoming a mother in the United States today. The discussion is a collaborative event presented by the Health Policy and Equity Network in the College of Health Solutions, ASU Art Museum, Medical Humanities Subcommittee for ASU School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering, and the Maternal and Child Health Translational Team in the College of Health Solutions.
This partnership aims to foster engagement through discussion with experts in public health, law and the humanities, while examining the intersection of maternal healthcare, health policy and cultural conceptions of motherhood.
Following the discussion and a talk by one of the featured artists, guests are invited to join a guided tour of the exhibition, “Notes on Motherhood”, which explores the themes of social, emotional, economic and political dimensions of contemporary motherhood. The exhibit showcases the work of multiple artists across a variety of media.
Museum entry is free. Light refreshments will be served. Complimentary and short-term paid parking will be available nearby.
